Our boats have thru hulls to allow discharge or intake of raw water. Some of them have seacocks that must be open.

    • The engine intake seacock is left open during the season.

    • The sink drain is open when the sink is being used, and closed afterwards.

    • We do not use raw water intake for flushing the head. That seacock remains closed.

    • It is illegal to discharge refuse overboard in the Chesapeake, so that seacock is also closed all the time.

    • Our boats have holding tanks that store waste until we stop by a pumpout station and empty the tank.

Our cruisers are equipped with an electric bilge pump. The pump has a manual as well as an automatic mode activated by a float switch.
