To comply with MD law and BSC policy:


    • Each sailor on board must have a PFD, either worn on the person or on the boat. 


    • Additionally, we have a type IV throwable floatation device a.k.a. "the square". We keep it within easy reach.


    • The cruising boats have a lifesling device mounted at the stern pushpit. The lifesling should be tied to the boat with a bowline at the base of the pushpit tubing. 


    • Make sure the line is under the lifesling inside its bag so when you throw it over, it will pay out easily.
